"Staff Roll" was obviously the last track worked on, since part of it serves as a medley and call back to all of the stage themes on the album. It starts out with a short jingle, which I wanted to give the feeling of celebration for reaching the end. For the medley, I spent a lot of time making sure the transitions between tracks felt smooth and deliberate. Even speeding up a couple tracks to match a consistent tempo, which Nakamura did in Sonic 2's Staff Roll. And since it's used as bookends, I wanted to write a title screen that could serve well as a beginning and end.
