about

"Rubble Canyon" starts out with some slight nods to Lava Reef Zone from S&K, but then takes a turn, and for it's main sections, draws influence from the latin tumbao feel of Aquatic Ruin Zone from Sonic 2. One of the things I love about Nakamura's work on the first two Sonic games, is how happy his melodies are. So I thought about that when I wrote this track. I also tried to convery a massive, endless feeling with the melodies, which would fit a Canyon.
